To All SCOPO Board Members & Affiliates:

  As you know, SCOPO is a respected advocate for Probation line staff.  SCOPO needs your help in selecting candidates who mirror the same philosophies.  SCOPO is requesting endorsement recommendations for non-Constitutional position (State Assembly Member/Senator, District Attorney, County Board Of Supervisor, Judge, Sheriff, etc…) candidates for political office at the local and state levels.  These candidates should be substantially in support of issues affecting Probation line staff in order to be considered.
       
 It is imperative that your parent organization submits at least one recommendation for a candidate for a statewide or local Primary in June 2010.  Following the June 2010 Primary Election, SCOPO will also in a position to make a financial contribution to selected State candidates for the General Election in November 2010.  This is your opportunity to educate
your candidate about SCOPO and the needs of Probation Peace Officers.
       
  Please submit to me, your candidate(s) name, the position, contact information and the district or area they represent no later than April 30, 2010.  Additionally, SCOPO is requesting a letter from your organization or association confirming the recommendation.
